Default Car computer won’t reset

My Mazda CX 7 2008 will not read all of my sensors and taking a long time to reset. The one it did read was saying what it said the last time and that was problem with cylinder 3. The last time they repaired it the switched the coils around and there was also condensation on the spark plugs. They are baffled as to why it is taking the computer so long to reset. They mentioned could be fuel injector etc.. basically they have to take it apart to find out what the problem is. Drives fine sometimes it has a shaky idle. Any ideas???

So.... if a shop is "baffled" on any service than it is time to shop for a better service shop. There is no such word "BAFFLED" when looking for a problem on a gas powered vehicle. Especially with a OBDII operating system.
The first thing which should have been done is to health check the battery.(properly load tested) Please don't post the age or that the battery is good because the engine starts.
Then a complete examination of the battery cables at the battery and at the ground and alternator and or starter.
The next thing is to check the ECU information and not just the easy accessed DTCs currently active and displaying the check engine light, but in all reporting fault areas of the ECU.

*YOU DONT swap coils (or any part without first confirming it is at fault or failed. Changing random parts can and often creates more added unresolved issues) to diagnosis a cylinder misfire! EVER! *That is another sign of a bad service shop!!! Or at least the monkey mechanic that was working on your Mazda.

Your idle assessment could be a multitude of things and as simple as the gas you choose to use to excessive carbon on operating components and systems. It is more than likely not associated with your first problem.

I also checked you member info and found this?

Good luck with your quest to find a better service shop.

Look for a shop that has signage or advertises ASE. In order to display this sign, they must have at least one ASE trained mechanic or Automotive Technician (better) employed. You can also see those certifications in the office or customer waiting areas of these shops usually hanging on a wall easily seen for customers.
You won't get baffled mechanics to a simple problem that needs the proper way to diagnosis and confirm a problem as the ones you have already tried. Hopefully they did not charge you for their shortcomings?
