Brand new 2008 CX-9 AWD. At 1100 miles I hear the loudest noise I have ever heard a car make... like someone taking a baseball bat and striking the underside of the vehicle. Take it to dealer... can't reproduce sound nor do they find anything wrong. At 1400 miles feels like right side tire is going flat... strong vibration. Take it to dealer... cant reproduce sound and can't find anything wrong. At 1800 miles baseball bat sound again. I record sound with cell phone and play it for tech. Next day I am informed that the "carrier bearing" is bad. No parts in the country and they will not be able to get one for 7 days.

I'm not much of a gear head... should I be concerned about this problem on a brand new vehicle. Will it spell trouble down the road. Is this a common problem?? Thanks for any advice!!
