hey all! i've got a 1995 929 67k miles,near perfect cond. i saw the battery tray was wet, thought battery was leaking, it was a walley world 3 yr. free replacement with 2 months left. got a new one. put it in now it stalls when i am stopped in drive after about 1 minute. it never did this before the battery change! if i catch it before it stalls i can shift into neutral,the tach. goes down to about 300 400 rpm. runs perfect otherwise. any ideas? thanks for any help...steve

 

found the problem today. the car was stalling every time i stopped! went home and with car running was checking things to see if it would stall i touched the air intake hose with light pressure car died! the hose was cracked in two spots,for now i taped it good with duct tape. drove the car and it ran great. bad thing is new hose is $300.

I purchased a 1996 Mazda 626, 4 cylinder, automatic and shortly after the purchase, the transmission started slipping and eventually failed. I had my trusted mechanic install a rebuilt transmission at a cost of about $1200.00. Around 2,000 miles later, the transmission started slipping again. I have done research and I found that the CD4E transmission is a known lemon. I originally paid $2800 for this car and have put in more than that in repairs. I will never buy another Mazda product.

have a 2000 miatai mazda.The car runs great but the battery went out,original battery. Changed the battery now the car won't start.Does anyone know if the computer has to be reset? Car turns over just won't start.
