Default 2014 - Mazda 6 reset light

I have just serviced my 2014 Mazda 6 estate but for the life of me cannot get the "Oil change due" warning or oil light off. Clean oil is clearly present. I have reset the maintenance schedule which acknowledges new figures but it states it cannot reset the oil change. Just keeps asking to retry. Any ideas gratefully received!!

You need to hook up a diagnostic tool and reset the oil data.

I have tried that but it was also unsuccessful. I gave up and spoke to Mazda dealer yesterday, apparently it's not uncommon and if the press the button twice trick doesn't work, it's a case of disconnecting the battery.

You may need Mazda to reset it via their diagnostic tool. Disconnecting the battery wont reset it.
