Default 2008 Mazda 5 & Bluetooth

Hi There,

I am not sure where to post this thread, I hope this is acceptable.

I just got my new '08 mazda 5 GT today, and was trying to get my BlueTooth Cell Phone to work with the car. The problem I am having is that the car can not find the phone, and the phone cant find the car. I have also tried to find out if my phone is compatible with the car, but the MazdaUSA website does not include Canadian carriers, and the canadian site does not offer the info I am looking for.

If anyone out there has experience with this, thanks in advance!

Phone is the Motorola Razr V3c using Bell Mobility as the Provider (installed the latest firmware this evening, and still didnt work)
Car is the (Canadian Spec) 2008 Mazda 5 GT (NO Nav System)

Well, I think I am close to my answer. My phone is Bluetooth V 1.1. Perhaps the M8 is a newer version of bluetooth which would explain it - however, in the owners manual it says it supports phones with V 1.1 or greater... I think the book may be wrong.

Am going to try phoning Mazda to see what they say - not about to buy a new phone just to use the BlueTooth, but cant give up, must make sure there are no answers.

Alright, no replies so not sure if anyone cares about this topic, but regardless, I got our phone to sync with the car!! Just missed a step or two in the setup, so all is good, the bluetooth is working perfectly.

Love it!
