My ignition key will not come out- I had a new transmission pput in and now key often gets stuck

 

Unless you had an ignition swap at the same time there is zero correlation between the transmission under your car and the ignition inside your car. Sounds like your looking at two completely different problems, check if your key is bent or messed up you might be able to just get a new key cut off a spare. If not, your ignition is going to have something wrong with it on the inside and you will either have to replace it yourself or get it looked at and they will probably tell you the same thing. Your transmission doesn't have a thing to do with it though.

 

Disagree with above. Check to see if the shift selector is in Park (auto) If it is check to see if its really in Park ( try rolling car without park brake). The problem maybe the shift indicator and or the transmission linkage which needs adjustment.
