Default 2000 Protege ES won't start

My daughter's 2000 Protege quit on her whhile driveing 65mph on interstate. We had it towed home and I have checked a few things out...Fuel pump is pumping, we are getting gas to fuel rail, spark plugs look to have plenty of spark. I haven't found any blown fuses. I don't think the injectors are injecting. I pulled plugs and turned over engine and I don't really smell gas or see evidence of it. Cams are turning when cranking and crank position indiacator has proper resistance...Any Ideas???
Thanks, Steve

try checking the compression and timing. Just because the plugs are firing doesn't nessecarily mean there firing at the right time.
Remove the #1 plug and get someone to turn over the engine. Have the plug agianst metal so you can see it fire will your finger is over the removed plugs hole. When you feel compression your plug should fire at that moment.
If this seems to difficult just get a compression meter and a timing light. Good luck i hope this helps!

An easy way to see if it just a fuel problem is by using carb cleaner. Use the supplied straw and spray a few squirts into the intake tube through a small opening...usually something like removing a breather hose. If the car starts, then you know to dig further into a no fuel condition.
