Default 2000 Miata won't start

Like another post (for an 05 model) I changed the oil and filter, and the air filter, and it won't start. No click, no turn over, nothing. The dash lights are on, the battery's ok. It ran just before I jacked it up, so whatever happened I did during the work. I did check the mass air flow sensor connections, they seem ok, and there was voltage at the B contact of the connector, which within the limits of my meter, seemed to look ok.

I'm gonna check behind the oil filter, see if there's anything there I could have done - as one of the mods suggested in the other thread.

Any other thoughts? It's got 65K miles, and ran fine till I tried my "routine" maintenance.

TIA, tony.

Default RE: 2000 Miata won't start

Update:

I went back out and checked behind the oil filter to no effect. However, I wiggled the MAS connector again, pulled the BTN1 fuse for a thirty count - to reset the check engine light - and lo and behold, started right up!

I don't really think wiggling the connector had any effect different from the other twenty times I did, but I so didn't think that the CE indication also kept the car from starting.

Any thoughts?

thanks, tony
