Default 08 M3, fuel leak AFTER purge solenoid replacement

Hey guys, I just bought an 08 Mazda3 2.0 in great shape. However, a few little gremlins have popped their heads up.

1. After a full tank fill-up, car would buck and hesitate for about 30 miles. Was deemed to be a bad purge solenoid, replaced and the problem stopped. During the issue, p0456 (small evap leak) popped up, that problem is gone. Yeehaw!!

2. Only hours after fixing that, I smell raw fuel each time I stop. Pull into the garage, and within an hour I can smell it across the house, far from the garage! Clearly an actual FUEL LEAK. Looks like it's coming from the upper evap canister area under the spare tire, but can't see the source exactly, and no CEL.

What could this be? It didn't leak before, and only HOURS after a purge solenoid replacement, the canister is SOAKED in fuel, and it's ruining the floor of my garage. Could this be related, or just cruel coincidence?
