Default Security Indicator Light?

Security Indicator Light was blinking and my car wouldn't start. I had to get roadside to come tow me to the dealership, but same was closed. Anybody have any ideas what it could be. By the way 06 Mazda6 with 7000 miles. I bought it last May brand new. Thanks

If I had to guess I would say that is has to do with the security chip in the key. Maybe that failed or the unit that detects it. Especially if that security light was blinking like that...Let us know how it goes!

your anti-theft immobilizer was actived. I would try another key and if that doesnt work then you will need to have it towed in.

Looks like your security chip is in trouble.

Yea,it's not reading the key somehow, because it's only supposed to do that when the key isn't in the ignition.

This just happened to me all of the sudden as well. Security Indicator light is blinking and the car cannot start up. I'm calling Roadside to tow it in, but I'm just glad it's in my garage and I'm not stuck in the middle of nowhere. Does anyone know if it's common for a key's security chip to malfunction for no reason? I didn't expose it to any magnetic field, water, etc. as the owner's manual mentions...
