On hills anyway... or angled driveways... you can leave it in neutral when your on level ground only i guess

Withmy auto, I put it in Park, but also put the parking brake on. See page 5-12 of the manual (2007 model). The "Park" gearof an automaticis not engineered to deal with the stress of holding the weight of the entire vehicle ... over the long haul, the stress can cause tranny damage. When your on roughly level ground, it's probably not a big deal, but on grade, using theparking brake isdefinitely the thing to do.

I leave my truck and any stick in gear any all the time while parked. And then can pop out of gear if stuck or a large load is on them like th added weight of a trailer. The car is officially totaled. Esurance was very easy to get along with. More then fair offer for the car.
Any one want to my it as is. Salavage value is $2100 from the insurance co. I think it is worth more just in parts. Motor has 21K on it that has to be $1500 all by itself. Alloy wheels tires and a complete interior. The rear section is fine, Car needs a front end clip. There is one available for $3500. $6600 plus labor for a 2006 is not a bad deal either as the car would still have a good title.
