I have a 1989 b2200 and the fan blower motor has started acting up.It will blow when IT wants to,not when I want it too.
Is there any way to test blower motor or is there a in line fuse maybe going bad?

well if the fan is like any other fan, then I have some experience with fans. If it works when it wants to and its an old machine like yours is, an original fan motor that is i am saying, it might be drying out. the fan only spins when it gets enough momentum to break free of its chains. if its not that and its not the greasing being an issue i would look at electrical connections. you know gravity and innertia going around those corners and such, you might have a loose wire harness or wire in general. it sucks but it seems like you have to trace the entire system and turn yourself upside down in your cab to get to the answer. GOOD luck. tomarrow I take the bed and vacuum system off my b2200.

Also the blower motor in it was a used replacement. When i bought the truck it was missing the blower motor.
I do love my little '89 b2200 extended cab. I bought it 5 years ago for $350.00.had to put new battery and ignition switch on it. Since then just normal maintenance and just recently put in new clutch and stuff.
the truck is like the energizer bunny,it just goes and goes and goes.......

 

Not much to add, but if it runs on high all the time, butcraps out in the lower speeds, you might also want to check the resistor circuit and make sure it and it's connections are good.
A direct 12v source should operate the motor @ high speed, so if you disconnect it from the switched circuit and connect it directly, it should operate if the motor itself is OK.
W/electrical, it's a good idea to start from one side of the circuit and work either forward or backward through the entire system... in your case, I'd start at the motor itself.
