i just bought a 1991 626 and ive been having problems with it stalling. if i brake really hard the interior lights will come on, the door light on the dash turns on and the car stalls. it will also randomly stall sometimes when i take my foot off the accelerator but if it starts to stall and i accelerate quickly enough it will keep running. the idle is about 800rpm when its in drive is this ok?

 

The 800 rpm sounds correct. Has any of the maintenance been done on the car? For example, gas and air filters or tune-up?
