I know the advantages of the clear bra. It's a great idea, especially when you live in Colorado. We get TONS of pea gravel on the roads during the winter months, and the city is too cheap to send out sweepers to clean it up. So, you end up with pits in your front bumper and grill.

This is why you get a clear bra.

But the perfectionist in me doesn't want that funny line across the hood.

But is it worth that funny line to save your bumper from the pits?

I say yes.

But is it worth a $250 line??

I am already in conversation with a reputable dealer that will put on the best quality, and guarantees their work.

But that line....................................

well i know that i have a steel gray mazda6, and when a rock hits my car, you can noticeably tell (at least i can) where the spot is from the impact. now i'm not sure if that clear bra will help eliminate that, or just protect your paint while having the bra take the impact and show it. i don't know if i would sink $250 bucks into my car just to protect the bumper... i just use touch up paint and when thats all cleans up, i wax my car and it looks good as new.

that's just my 2 cents that i'm puttin in...

The installation/installer is KEY.........the shop that did this for me had to get the Llumar sales rep to send a tech to re-install mine. They are not very user friendly, especially for a MS6 due to the three rises in the front hood.
For the complete kit which included full bumper, front fenders, 24 inches up the hood and the side mirrors, installed price was 700.00 usd.

So far, it has paid for itself 3 times, rock damage 3 times to film only, yes I can see it if I get close enough but I can also see that the paint was undamaged. Over time the cost of repairing this type of damage by a paint shop, to me is worth every penny. I don't do touch up paint........my preference.

 

thats what i love what they do here in burlington for winter.
last year, they stopped using salt and gravel, and they now use this liquid that gets put on most of the roads. it dries up and leaves behind white lines down the roads, but now theres no need for salt!!

 

Do it, it saves the paint!

I wish I had. Aftermy first re-paint I most certainly will. It's worth the $$$ and the OEM paint sucks.
