Default 225-55-r19 -> 235-55-r19

My stock toyos from my 2016 CX5 GT are just about worn out. I would truly appreciate some feedback on ride quality, MPG loss and acceleration from going one size up.

The sidewall would increase from 4.9 to 5.1
The total height would increase from 28.7 to 29.2
The total width would increase from 8.9 to 9.3

I believe the look of the bigger size tire would compliment the CX5 greatly but as I said before, I would thoroughly enjoy your input from real world driving differences.
The tire upgrade I want would ideally be focused around comfort above all. (would have got the 17 inch touring but the deal on the GT was too good to pass up)

Looking at Altimax rt43 (235-55-r19) unless someone can chime in on something more ...comfortable?

Thank you for your time.

Running 235/55/19 will have your speedo reading 61.21mph when in fact you are travelling at 62.14mph

Running 235/50/19 will have your speedo reading 63.22mph when in fact you are travelling at 62.14mph

Default Did the 235/55R19 tires fit without any clearance concerns?

tantrum007, did you go ahead with the 235/55R19's and was their fitment without any clearance or interference concerns? I'm about to do the same thing, have 235/55R19 Michelin CrossClimate SUV tires fitted to my 2019 CX-5's 19 inch wheels.
The tire installer is 100% certain they'll fit fine, I'd appreciate it if you can advise you agree. Sorry if I've not got this reply correctly input and submitted. I just registered yesterday and this is my first reply.

Thumbs up

225-55-r19 -> 235-55-r19
I realize this thread is a few months old, but I've recently installed a set of 235/55-19's onto a CX-5 and have been fairly impressed.

Nokian WR G4 SUV -- in 235/55-19, 105V XL, 600AA / 60Kmi, 3-peak severe-winter rating. On a 2016 Mazda CX-5 AWD. Intended for all-year use.

While not the outright snow+ice tires Nokian is famous for, so far I'm very impressed with these things. Technically an all-season tire, they've got a compound that does very well in temperatures down to 10ºF or so. Handles cold and icy roads with quite a bit of grip. Easily plows through several inches of snow, even with an inch of slushy, sleety, icy mix underneath. Fairly quiet and smooth, too, which is a nice bonus.

They do fill the wheel well a tad more than the 225's. Though it's only 0.4" wider. Would prefer the 255/50's, myself, but wasn't sure they'd fit without rubbing. Grip on these 235/55's is noticeably better than any "all" season tire I've had, on any vehicle, and seemingly with only a modest step down in overall wintry grip as compared to the Nokian Hakkapeliittas that I've run previously (on other vehicles).

If these things still have grip through the 60Kmi mark like Nokian says they should, for paved-road duties I'll probably have a hard time running anything else.
