2015 6 Touring Brake rubbing grinding heavy braking only
About a month ago we got our rotars and brake pads replaced at a Mazda dealership in Montana (we were on a road trip). Everything has been great generally speaking.
Normal braking no issues. Good feel, power is fine, no noise.
About a week or so ago we noticed that under heavier braking (even from slower speeds if you just hammer on the brakes) we were getting a grinding/rubbing noise from I think the front right. Thought maybe it was a bedding in process, but contacting our local dealer and they said to bring it in.
What they told us was that sometimes Mazda brake pads just do that and nothing is wrong with the brake (function and everything looks correct, etc.). They could sell us some aftermarket brake pads.
Does that sound right to you?
Seems like a lot of people would be complaining if this was a normal thing.
