Y'know, you're RIGHT!! I was thinking they were turboed, but they WERE supercharged from the factory, weren't they? I could hear the blow-off valve popping, so he musta' turboed. Either way, that car could still run circles around mine. It's quicker and more nimble. |

1991 mitsubishi galant, VR4. #153/2000. 2.0 DOHC turbo, awd, rear wheel steering. 340hp/342tq at the wheels(not stock). awesome car, excellent sleeper. there are so many go fast parts available for this car, one can easily go crazy. and broke

For pure fun from the drivers seat, my '86 5.0 'Stang. A Tremec trans, addco sway bars, self fabbed susp. drop & frame connectors. Too much to list. I drove that car 125K and beat the crap out of it. Finally parked it after a year of driving it with the right side stove in from a t-bone crash.
Rolling chassis is still at my buds house. I need a Z car to drop the powertrain in. First car, '67 stang notchback(3 engines, 2 transmisions, 4 rearends) #2 '70 notch #3 '64 Galaxie 500 #4 '67 falcon 6 cyl.(hey, I was broke) #5 '70 fastback #6 '69 fastback #7 '65 comet 2+2, I bought this car as a 6 cyl. auto, put hopped up 302 from #6 in it. Swapped in bucket seats, floor shift, stang front discs with an manual brake cyl from a pinto(no room for a booster) Altogether, parts from five different models went into that car. Ever heard Johnny Cash's "One piece at a time"? That car was sure it. Nasty little squirrel cause it didn't weigh nothin'. #8 '76 F-150 #9 was the '86 5.0 #10 grandma's hand me down '86 escort wagon #11 '91 LX 5.0 #12 My current '91 MPV w/275K on it #13 '05 Outback XT turbo w/30K. From 50 to 80...Oh,my! I can't believe I don't own a ford right now. I saw a red '08 Roush the other day. Made my eyes water. Blue oval's in my blood. Sorry for the list, once I started, I just couldn't stop. Damn! Forgot the '69 E-300. Now that thing would carry a load! |

Oh, yes I know. I was around and looking at them when they were new. I was 10-11 yrs old then, and already a car guy. But there are other minor differences between them that make the '68 not so appealing to me. The '68 was heavier overall, it even looked heavier, had the turn signal repeaters in the hood (late '67's too,) fake wood grained dash and side panels, fatter more comfy seats, heavier "luxury" car steering wheel. By '68, the car was starting to get bloated and soft. They wanted your mother to be comfortable in the car so that she might buy one. The '67's were more bare-bones, which simply appeals more to me. |

Mine has to be the 83 Ford Thunderbird. Loved that car. Looked like hell, but ran like a champ! Lost it when my buddy drove it to the gas station one day and got side swipped by a Avalanche..my car was no match!
