If it takes more than ~1 second....you're exerting too much effort.
My brother-in-law frosts the tips of his hair. I don't think I've seen anything more girlish than a grown up man wearing that stupid bonnet.

Shoulda' seen my routine when my hair was past my shoulder blades.. and I don't go in for all the sprays and mousses, etc. either.
