Want a MS3
Hey, everyone.
I'm from New York and currently go to college in AL. I'm 18 years old and about to get my license. I'm saving up for my first car (which i really want to be a manual) .I really want a gen1 ms3. I've been getting a bit of practice driving stick. I have yet to practice downshifting. In the time it will take me to get the funds together, I think I'll get enough practice to be ready in order to handle the car. I'm wondering if its a good plan towards my first car. If not, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a comment made by my son last year (he's now 22 and in the Navy).
"Dad, I just bought a mint condition 1994 Toyota MR2 Turbo; I am SO glad you talked me out of buying a hot car a couple of years ago, I would have killed myself before I even understood what I'd done to screw up."
Granted the MazdaSpeed3 is probably a bit more predictable at the limit compared to Mister Two, but the point remains; cut your teeth on lesser iron before buying a hot ride. FWIW, my son learned to drive a stick in my 2.0 liter 2009 Mazda3, and even then he admitted (after the fact) that car got him into trouble upon occasion.
