Default Possibly a new owner, well my wife anyway..

My wife and I went out and checked out a 2004 Miata MX-5 Base/LS for 13,000 with 41000 miles. Not sure, what to think over all. I have an Nissan Xterra (Xterra Owners Club) and have Modded the hell out of it wheel it to no end in Moab Utah and Co. Im worried if I "purchased this car for my wife" and not me could I leave well enough alone.

I guess I would like to get everybodys thoughts on the possible idea on this purchase, what sort of aftermarket support is out there. Any real issues to look for on this make/model/year Miata.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Ryan

I loved my Miata. You get a real sports car, with real sports car fun and performance for a very reasonable price and, unlike many sports cars, it is actually a reliable vehicle. There could be a problem with the wife over whose turn it is to drive it!

Here's a review of the 2004 model: http://www.car-buying-strategies.com...zda-Miata.html

The Miata has topped the list for the sports car category again this year in the JD Power reliability ratings. The only complaints that one might have about a Miata is that they are small and not very easy for an older, or very large person to ride in. But hey, that's not what a sports car is suppose to be good for!
