I don't know what else to call the plastic liner under the car but near the middle of that liner under the car, on the right side, is a rectangular opening. I have no idea what it's for but it seems a local feral cat likes to use it to hide at night. I wondered if there was supposed to be a cover on that opening? If it is not supposed to be closed I wondered if I could attach some of aluminum mesh there to keep the cat out. The aluminum mesh is the type that's got some type of decorative pattern on it so it would still allow air flow.

I actually found the part. It's the right side under cover. This picture shows the complete piece..

 

Never mind. It seems the feral cat that hides in there is one of the good cats in the neighborhood and we don't mind giving him some protection.
