Default Newbie from Sydney

Hi there,

I'm from Sydney, Australia - I just joined because I was researching what new shoes my Mazda 3 sp25 might like/what's good and came across this site (I have no idea about tires :/ )
So I'm off to checkout the threads on what's, what.

Cheers

Hi there,
Sorry, I meant tyres.
I have a very zippy 2011 SP25. After a couple calls, she's getting new ones tomorrow - already!

I have used Tirerack.com to narrow down the options. There are a lot of factors to consider, driving style, temperature, rain, snow and so on.

I bought a set of Michelin X-Ice XI3 that are great for our winters but would not meet your needs!

I ended up getting 205/50/17 UC6 Continentals, they're supposed to be good in wet and dry. Kinda needed to get them done at the last minute...asap, otherwise I would've looked around and read a bit more than I did.
I'd hate to live in a place that needed different tyres for different seasons lol

Yes, I wish I had longer to look around. Yep, no snow happening where I am lol, need to drive a bunch of hours for that

The snow is not so bad here that I need winter tires, all-season would have been good enough, I decided to go with Winter tires so I can use summer tires for the other half of the year. The problem now is that with winter tires for 5 months of the year, it doesn't seem like the all-season tires that came with the car will ever need to be replaced.
