Default Newbie Mazda MS8 Owner needs help with his Brakes :)

See Photo's attached.

It appears that I cannot get a WOF because my handbrake is too weak. Just jacked it up and realised that possibly the cables that tighten on the Caliper aren't functioning...

When I release the Handbrake:
The left cable goes pinging off and becomes unseated from the caliper.
The right cable doesn't really do anything, with the handbrake on or off. (It does a bit...enough to cause a little bit of braking).

But once the left cable has pinged off, it stays off, unless I reseat it.

Do I need to buy new cables and fit them? Or is there a Quick and dirty answer to my problem... I just want to get a WOF...

NOTE: the top right photo is the left Brake cable, unseated from the clip it should be pulling and releasing for the brakes.

First of all... I may be dense, but what the heck is a WOF?
Second, can you offer a little more history?
Are you the original owner?
Has a brake job been done at one time or another.
What other mods have been done that may have affected the parking brake... etc?
