New Member with CX-7 questions

Hi, I bought a 2008 Cx-7 2.3 Turbo 133K with thrown rod for the purpose of repairing and selling. Last night I finally got to the crankshaft and I found that the #3 rod had separated from the cap. I guess the bolts snapped. the rod punctured both sides of the block. It appears that it did not strike the crank journal although it is black from old oil or not enough oil. Owner did not change oil enough, Everything was black and gummy. My question is I don't know what to call the thing that mounts with four bolts over #2 and #3 crankshaft position. It appears to be a oil pump that would set in the bottom of the oil pan with two cylinders that operate from a gear that connects to a ring gear on the crankshaft next to #3 rod. The ring gear is damaged as well as the gear on the pump. I will have to replace them both but it would help to know what to properly call them other than that thing. Thanks for your help.

If the block has two holes in it, would you not just replace the whole engine?

Of course I am replacing the block with two holes in it. Do you know the name of the part I mentioned?
