Default Mazda Axela 2004 2.0 L Immobiliser Help

Car occasionally won’t start and get single pluck when key is turned back from attempted start.

Any ideas? Just had transmission replacement very recently from mechanic. Looking for second opinion rather than only local mechanic

I would take it back to them and ask them to check the starter motor wiring. More than likely the starter was removed during the transmission removal.
