Hello everybody
This is my first post. I am at my wits end with this problem so wondered if any one on this forum could help.
I have a 2003 323f and there is water leaking into the boot. It is mostly going in where the jack sits on the right as i look at the boot but there is water on the left side. This moves inot the spare tyre bay when the car is driven. I have had all of the plastic trim off and poured watr on the top of the car but cannot see where it comes in. I have checked the seal and it is fine making a good seal all round and has not perished.
I thought this was a problem with my car until i looked at my neighbour's 323 which has the exact same problem.
Anyone know how to solve this or do i need to learn to live with a slowly rusting car that is in other wise mint condition for its age.

Hello there!
I had a simular problem with my 93 Protege DX. The water that filled the jack well was coming in through a very small crease where the rear fender meets the wheel well. The opening was no more than the size of a pea. When driving on wet roads, the tire was thowing water up into the wheel well and into the hole. The water would flow down inside the fender and into the jack well. My solution was to put the car on jack stands, remove the rear wheel, inspect the crease for openings. Remove the trunk's (boot's) plastic panel on that side. Put a bright light source onto the inner fender space and look back in the wheel well for light - this is how I found mine!
I brushed the inner wheel well out and applied a thick black undercoating product with an old paintbrush to the opening in the wheel well as well as inside the fender well.
You can also temporarily remove the plastic drain plug from the bottom of the jack well and leave it out until its dry before performing this procedure.
