Default Know issues/problems/faults?

Hi there, and apologies as I KNOW this MUST have been asked previously...
I've been thrust in to the car market by an uninsured driver, and I'm not prepared to buy yet and need to do homework, and NOWWWWWW... I'm here to harass you all.
My previous to current car was a 2003 Mazda 6 2L auto. I still miss that car. I bought it at 80000 miles and it died at 200000 of rust. Mechanically it was still fine and just kept going. I paid £400 for it in 2012 and it died last year, having only been serviced twice and total cost of ownership was about £3500 in those 12 years. Thinking it was on the verge of death all the time, I didn't do it too much, but honestly, this may have been the best car I'll ever own. With so much more to go wrong now, I want to ensure I'm making a good decision with a Mazda 6, once again.

SO, is there a known issues thread or buyer guide? I've searched but can't find one, or anything similar, so could someone kindly link me up?
I'm sure I'll have additional questions but that'd be a good start.

Likely I'm looking at 2013 models, and will try and get in to a 2016 onwards but only have £5k ish, to spend.
I've heard cautions against the 2.2D engines and would like some advice on this.
Also, real life fuel consumption in diesel tank for tank.
Can the 148bhp be remapped well enough and is the 175 a waste of time changing?
Auto boxes... are they reliable and good?

Thanks in advance!

Well, that rules out Mazda...
I wanted the diesel for the economy.
Petrol engines drink fuel.
That was the only thing I disliked about my old one.
It would get 360 miles from a £90 tank of petrol.
My current, damaged, Peugeot 208, gets 600 miles on a £65 tank of diesel.
For years I've dreamed about getting an up to date, ish, Mazda 6.

Curse you Mazda!
...Destroyer of Dreams!
