Default Hi ya - Mazda6 i Owner

Hi Everyone,

Just secured a 2005 Mazda6i sedan; Pebble Ash Metallic; 20k miles on it; 4-speed AT; side air bags; power seats, having an after-market sun/moon roof installed (I get a lifetime warranty with it, so that eased my concerns a bit!). It will be ready for pick up on Wednesday, and I can't wait!

My first Mazda experience was a few years ago when I got a 3 hatchback as a rental. It was TOO fun! Loved the "zoom". Been having problems with my 98 Malibu, and it went in the shop again last week and I vowed that would be the LAST time -- I was through with it. I got a Mazda6 as a rental and there was no going back to the 3. As soon as my car was fixed, I found a Mazda6 I could afford!

I hear some bad things about Mazda, and the 6 on message boards, but I had to trust my instincts and go with the 6. The driving experience is fantastic. I test drove a new Honda Civic Coupe the other day, and it had none of the personality of the 2005 Mazda6. May have had a lot of bells and whistles, but it wasn't a CAR, ya know?

Tell me I'll be very happy with my "new" car -- I am hoping for nothing but the best, but I did get a major warranty package with my car just to be on the safe side!

welcome to the mazda community, you will be very happy with your car, haha! but in all seriousness, mazdas are really reliable and have always had high standards of quality. it's a great investment that maintains a high value over time! glad you have made the right choice. i know exactly what you mean when you tried a mazda3, and then a 6 and fell in love with the 6. i was the same way!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I'm really going to rely on you guys for advice and to answer basic questions.

I just picked up my car this evening -- she's a beauty! Only 4-cyl, 2.3, but airbags all 'round, pin-striping, and it looks as though I have a 6-CD changer -- does that mean it's a Bose? I need to take it back tomorrow for a 4-wheel alignment -- it's pulling to the right a bit too much (it was aligned at the site of origin in another state, but after 300+ miles, it's not quite right). Also, the steering isn't as tight as it should be. Do you think the alignment will take care of that?

What a change over an 8.5 year old Malibu! Whoa!
