Default Hi.

Hi. I'm new to the Mazda world. I'm here due to an unfortunate circumstance where my 2019 Toyota C-HR was rear ended by a BMW X5. The at fault insurance company ended up totaling the car. So far, I've been pretty happy with my experience with my 2025 CX-5 Select. I also own other vehicles such as a 2013 BMW 135i and a 1997 Ford F-150 with extended bed. I'm also into motorcycling and own a 2004 Kawasaki ZX-10R, a 2016 BMW C650 Sport, and a 2022 BMW S1000RR. Thrown into the mix is a sailboat where I picked up sailing during Covid. It's a 1988 Beneteau First 285.

I also do track days with California Superbike School. And do as much as I can with DIY work on my vehicles.

Nice collection of bikes.

Training on bikes with training wheels. Interesting concept?

I used a case safer for my track training days. lol

Thanks. I sold a 09 Ducati 848 to make room for the 2022 S1000RR.

Not following the training on bikes with training wheels comment.

The school You said attend uses literally training wheels to teach students how to make high speed turns .

I never really went for heavier large displacement bikes over 700cc ,they were just to heavy my extremely modified RG500 spanked most of them up to 150mph and none ever could catch me in the mountains twisties or a tight track like Laguna Seca .

You're referring to the lean/slide bike. It's an off track tool the school uses. When configured as a lean bike, it allows the off track coach to observe the rider's body position and make adjustments. The extended arms is to provide a level of safety and some confidence when making turns in the parking lot. When the bike is configured as a slide bike, the extended arms assembly is pushed further out from the bike to artificially unload the rear tire. It's meant to get a rider comfortable with the rear end sliding out and recovering. They also have a braking bike with the same type extensions to keep the bike up when the rider is told to grab a fist full of front brake. The goal is to lock up the front wheel to close to a complete stop and then recover. On track we're on regular bikes which if you rent the bike from them are S1000RRs.

The school has been around for decades with chapters in England, Australia, India, and I think China. Keith Code founded the school ad has written two books around his riding philosophy called Twist of the Wrist 1 and Twist of the Wrist 2.

These are all the pro riders Keith/Superbike School has trained:
