Hi Pen and welcome to the site!
Yes, white wheels are possible and can look very hawt on the right car. I considered them myself for my white HB. But are you prepared for all the cleaning you will need to do to them just to keep them looking good? The brake dust alone will build up in two or three days of normal driving.
I finally chose a graphite/charcoal colored wheel and have been very happy with the results. Not black mind you, but a med-gray with just a touch of shine, like looking at pencil lead in sunlight.
If you insist on white may I suggest you keep the wheel design itself simple so that they are easier and faster to clean and keep clean.

Have you decided what size wheel/tire you want? 18's look great on the HB models.
Keep the offset of the new wheel in mind also. The OE spec is +52.5mm and though you aren't liable to find one w/exactly that offset, close will do. For the best overall results, stay above +45mm.

You should not feel that way. We all needed to start somewhere ya' know.
Lowering, well, I am running H&R springs, but primarily because I got an extremely good deal on them.
Eibach Prokit is the std (+/-1.2" all around) and is said to be closest to an OE ride.
For a lesser drop, Mazdaspeed, Racing Beat or Tein H series springs will offer a 1" or less drop all around.
Please stay away from the no-name eBay springs.
