Better you than me!
Good Luck!
Chances are catalytic converters need to be changed as bits may have re-entered your engine via EGR valve and getting in your oil somehow causing this rod knock.

Welcome!!

Rod knock is common in alot of engines that fail.

Get the engine out, and when you start with the tear down , take pics and a lot of them, this will also help when it comes time to bolt the engine back together.

Hey guys sorry i have not followed up i been busy playing with the p5... i rebuilt the engine new crank,2 new rods, new bearings ,thrust washers, piston rings ect ect . n im loving this car this damn thing handles like a sports car but is a bit underpowered. i scored a nice deal at a bone yard after i rebult the eng and was re-assembling everything.A siver p5 smashed in the front came in to the local yard and off it i got Tien sTech springs $9 each and a 4 2 1 header $25.00 and some performance engine mounts for the pass and the front... u can see it in the engine pic below also did the Vtcs delete and port n polish egr clean iac clean while it was apart then i noticed the muffler is a flowmaster its a bit loud for my taste but it will have to do for now. the p5 at the yard had beige leather seats and a roof rack but when i went back they were gone.

Very neat. Glad you were able to do all this stuff so cheap.
Like the 2 tone paint and the rims.
