Default hello

Hi All,
New member here. I just had an animal collision wipe out my 06 Mazda 3. 326,000 and WAS still going strong. I'm currently looking for a good replacement for it. How dependable are the automatic transmissions for the 3 or the 6? I personally prefer a manual but there are limited amounts of those around.
Thanks!

Which generation of Mazda3 and Mazda6 are you looking at (I'm no expert on the issues with the automatic transmissions, but the vintage of the cars you're looking at might could well be different)?

Regarding availability; to be sure the Mazda6 is difficult to come by with a manual transmission, but Mazda3 models are quite easy to find with three pedals under the dash.

I'm looking for anything from 06-10. Finding a manual in this area w/ my specks is getting harder. I remember when I bought the car new everyone seemed to drive a manual but now people have gotten lazy LOL. I haven't driven an auto in 15 years beyond a rental. Hate them!

Agreed, both my wife and I are "allergic" to automatic transmissions; we tolerate them when necessary.

I just did a 100 mile radius search from here in New Hampshire for 2006-2010 Mazda3 models with a manual transmission and came up with 24 hits. I don't know, maybe here in New England manual transmissions are still in vogue.

There is one particular creampuff which stands out; a 2008 Mazda3 i Touring Value Edition, black, 5-Speed manual, and only 26,347 miles on the clock; that said, it is a bit pricy, asking price is $9,000.

Have to hit the NE I guess! I found a couple here in Mpls that fall into my range. Unfortunately 9k is out of my range but I would like that in my garage!

FYI, a full pack of coyotes will completely ruin your evening.

Thanks humoroustee!

I think I found a good compromise in a 2010. Great ride but who in Japan thought it was a good idea to not put a temp gauge in the dash? A flashing light LOL. May have to put my own in.
