Question Gear Box Swap for Mazda Verisa

Hi Forum Members.

I've recently 'upgraded' from a Mercedes Benz W210 E55 AMG to a 2006 Mazda Verisa...long story...

It's a great wee wagon and I've had a lot of fun doing a bit of maintenance and repair work on it, including apparently usual issues like the EGR valve clogging and a few small electrical issues, but it's a strong wee vehicle, which I'm enjoying.

I've recently installed a throttle controller, GAN performance chip and a more performance focussed exhaust system, which have all combined to add a little more 'zoom zoom' to the Roller Skate (RLRSKT), but I have a question...

Is there a compatible gearbox from another Mazda model that will easily fit to the Verisa engine (ZY-VE)? Would consider a manual swap, but would be okay with another automatic unit too. I'm finding the gearing ratio is a bit too short at the top end with current cogs, which makes for a high-revving, long trip over distance.

Any advice and thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Callisto.

I've enjoyed reading through some of the threads...a few classics in the mix.

I would think a manual swap from a Mazda2 would be possible.

I was thinking the same.

Makes sense. I understand the power plants are the same, but the box has and extra cog...
