Default Collision Avoidance/Lane Departure?

I will be buying a CX3 in the next week or two, and am conflicted over which one.
I will be getting at least a Touring because I badly need blind spot monitoring.
As long as I am buying a new car I am temped by the iActive package on the Grand Touring to pick up collision avoidance and lane departure warning.
It would cost $5,000 more and I really don't want anything else that would come with it.

One salesman recommended I save the money. The collision avoidance is really only useful with cruise control, which I never use, and the lane departure is generally turned off because it is annoying.

On my test drive the lane departure rarely worked because the road markings weren't in good shape; and I couldn't get the collision avoidance to do anything at all, but of course I didn't try to hit anything either, so it probably wasn't a good test.

So, any opinions here?

MAZDA:Advanced Safety Technologies 'i-ACTIVSENSE' for All-New Mazda6 | News Releases

This link will provide you with a little bit more information on what is included in the iActive package. The main feature that is talked about from a consumer side is the Smart City Braking. I can give you first hand experience, it works. Your speed has to be 29mph or lower to completely avoid a stationary object. At 30mph, you hit it. But that's a story for a different day.
