Cool Cold Start Noise

I had a 2006 NC and at around 80K it started to get a sort of harsh, raspy sound when cold starting. Turning the car off and restarting immediately and the noise wasn't evident. I now have a 2010 NC with 79K on the clock and am starting to hear that same noise on occasion. This never happened on either of my NAs. Can anyone tell me what that noise is and how it might be fixed? I'll be your BFF until Tuesday if you can help me out with this.

Welcome to the forum.
First description of sounds varies tremendous with individuals describing them. You could post a short video but unless the noise in predominately in the video (no other distracting sounds or noises) and at or very close to where it is produced, they are general useless except for people that gamble and "GUESS" at the sound's creation.
I would suggest that you go to a service shop that has an ASE sign and see if they are at least willing ti listen to your engine for a free estimate what is making the noise. Or as I said try posting a video?
