Default Aloha

Howzit people!! I didn't know there was a Mazda forum, but then again, I didn't bother finding out if there was one...buahaha! Anyways, i'm glad I found one and joined instantly. I have a 2012 2.5L Mazda6 which I bought last November and just recently got new rims and tires for it. I had no problems the past couple of days but as soon as I hit the freeway my tire sensor warning light came on... Does anyone have a solution? Please help me out...Thanks!!

Welcome. I would take it back to the place you had the tires mounted. The sensors are easy to break and expensive. Obviously you checked the tire pressures?

Thanks, I actually ordered the aftermarket rims and tires online. Maybe they don't have sensors in it?

Doubt the wheels came with sensors but they should have been swapped when the tires/wheels were broken down into the new wheels. Most tire stores have a TPMS to read codes for which tire sensor is bad etc.

I guess it's kinda my fault for not knowing about the TPMS until the warning light came on. I just wished I knew about mandatory things installed in vehicles, being that I was out of the loop from society for about 5 years.....

By the way...it shouldn't be a problem driving with the light on, right?

No problems except the light being on all the time and possibly failure of a state inspection.

Damn...my safety check expires next month!! Can I remove my old ones and mount then on the aftermarket rims (Platinum 210 Tracker) or do I have to get new ones that are compatible with both the wheels and TPMS unit...I hope I'm making sense....thanks again!!

You should be able to install them on your new wheels. They are basically the valve stem.
