Default 88 Mazda B2200

Hello fellow Mazda Heads! Just found your forum and I would like to share my Mazda with you. I'm an old retired guy and I'm road-tripping a lot in my 32 year old Mazda B2200. I'm the third owner and the last one was my son, an auto body guy in Seattle.

I have put a lot of care into this old truck, my main and only ride, We just finished a badass road trip from Tennessee to Seattle via Colorado and she got me back.

Weber carb with a header and straight pipe at 216K.

Typically, I think toppers are quite ugly, but in your case, I understand why you have one.

Interior of the cab pic?

The original factory topper blew off in a Mojave Desert wind storm, bought this at a used topper place in Utah for $200 installed.

Nice. I've always liked the burgundy interior. If you could find a burgundy sport steering wheel for a reasonable price, it would be a nice upgrade from the one you have.

Very nice! I'll look around. What I really miss though is the cruise control that left when the Weber carb arrived :-)

I use a throttle depressor now to save my foot: (https://www.oldmanjim.com/cruise-control)

That thing looks dangerous as hell. What if you need to stop quickly or go into a sharp turn and need to slow down rapidly?

I just finished a major road trip and for the most part, out on the major interstates, it was a lifesaver.

But, coming over Snoqualmie pass I had to brake suddenly so I kicked it off the throttle and my foot ended up on my clutch, not my brake. I didn't know that so I'm pumping my clutch franticly trying to slow down until my brain clicked in and I found the brake.

I learned to use it only on the open road...
