Default 2019 Mazda CX-5 – “Steering Locked” + Won’t Start

Hi all, I’ve got a 2019 Mazda CX-5 with keyless start/stop, and I’m running into a frustrating issue. Quite often when I try to start the car, it won’t start and shows a “Steering Locked” warning on the dash, along with four beeping sounds. The steering wheel stays locked and the engine doesn’t turn over. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:- Replaced the key fob battery and tested both fobs- Held the fob close to the start button while trying to start- Turned the steering wheel slightly while pressing the brake and start button I’ve seen online that this seems to be a reasonably common issue with this model, but the fixes aren’t obvious or consistent. If anyone’s dealt with this before or has advice on how to solve it, I’d really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

That's a difficult one to try to "guess" at a solution without actually being able to physically diagnose it. Naturally you found the most common DIY on the www. So, my suggestion is wait for others to answer that may have it happened, and you can test them out and do the process of elimination or get a qualified service shops with a Certified Diagnostic Technician to tell you exactly what it is. It will be an hour labor charge.
