My current radio Bluetooth is locked and idk the code since the other owner didn’t give that info to the dealership, and when I took it to Mazda, they tried telling me they didn’t know how to reset. So I want to buy a newer radio but I know NOTHING about this type of thing so figured I’d come here. Any recommendations for radios I can install? I know the gist of installing, just not sure what radio. Preferably cheap. Thanks

(First time posting - just created an account after seeing this post )

I just purchased this recently for someone as a gift, but I have yet to install it. I also have the trim pieces and a rear-view camera. I've been searching everywhere for someone [in 2020] who is also planning to install a new stereo in one of these cars. I've heard the wiring and compatibility is funky because of the on-board Bose amp. I still haven't figured anything out (can't just go poking-around - I'm installing it as a surprise).

I'm following this to see if anyone else chimes in - She's really gonna start thinking I actually DIDN'T get her anything for Christmas if I can't get this thing installed. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
