hi all, i recently purchased a 1980 rx7. the original owner replaced the stock engine with a later model 13b turbo engine.
I need to order parts for the 13b turbo engine ( thermostat, water pump etc), but dont know what model mazda the motor came out off. Does anyone know how i can find out what model engine i have? is their a serial number or engine number i can go of or is it a visual thing?

 

Is probably going to be more visual. The 13B turbo engine was only used from 1988-1991 so there are only four years of production to pick from. Changes to the t-stat, water pump, etc should all be pretty much the same. The basic engine remained fairly unchanged for all of the turbo models.
