Default Zoom-Zoom Red Lines - Please Help

Please Help! I love my Zoom-Zoom (Mazda 6 Sport Wagon), but it suddenly has a mind of its own. When accelerating uphill (between 45-65mph) it will get stuck in 4th gear. Rather than shift smoothly into 5th, it cuts engine power (as though it sends itself into neutral.) and the RPM's red line. They go from 4K PRM to 7K-8K. It scares the **** out of me! It does it with the cruise on or off. I was told by the dealership that the engine going into a sort of neutral is its way of protecting the transmission. The dealership also cannot find anything wrong with it on their computer system (no errors.) I'm leaving it with them for a few days and asking them to take it on some hill drives to try to replicate the issue. I'm not rodding the zoom-zoom. It gets treated well (regular oil change, good gas, no juice boxes). This really scares me, especially with the girls (2 toddlers) in the car. Does anyone have any suggestions or simillar situations? They would be welcome.

Amie

Default RE: Zoom-Zoom Red Lines - Please Help

I had something similar happen to me in a Jeep I had a while back. I took it to several mechanics and they all told me that the transmission needed to be replaced. Good luck with your problem man, I hope things work out for you.
