Default White smoke when starting and turbo lag

When I first turn on the car (Mazda 6 GH 2.0L turbo diesel 2008) it smokes quite a lot. The smoke goes after a few minutes but then the turbo seems to kick in very suddenly.

Would replacing the oil restrictor bolt help or maybe something else? If so does anyone know the size of the bolt?

I don’t really know much about cars but am trying to learn a little as I go. I have also not driven a diesel or a turbo car before. Is this the correct bolt?

These engines boost up very quickly.

What colour is the smoke? What's the ambient air temp on startup?

the smoke is white and the temp on the dashboard says 9c. I live in the UK so it’s kind of cold.

Without seeing the car myself, are you sure its jut not normal cold temp condensation in the exhaust? What happens once the car is fully warmed up?

it could be normal cold condensation. However, after the DPF run I gave the car yesterday I expect a little white smoke but not lots of smoke like there was.

Once the car is warm it’s fine and there’s no smoke, when it’s cold it can bother passers by with a face full of smoke.
