Lucas Fuel Treatment is some great stuff.

 

The engine does not recognize the higher octane rating and does not advance the timing to compensate for the slight increase in power. I know the VR6 from VW and my old Audi 2.8 V6 30v wanted a min of 91 which we can't get in the east coast so it was always high test 93.

On occasion, it would get the Ultra 94 but our 3.0 V6 aren't that smart or high maintenance. Hehehhe…

For maintenance purposes, I add a bottle of Chevron's Techron Fuel Injector cleaner every spring and late fall before winter.

 

I use regular unleaded from shell only..

 

It's true that 87 octane from a quality fuel company is the way to go. And Mario Maverick is onto somethng: Chevron's Techron fuel system cleaner is dynamite stuff...a really good product. I'd recommend it to anyone. Cheers,
