Default Very quick to get up to temp? Normal??

Just bought a 2005 mazda 6 2 litre turbo diesel. Ive noticed that it gets up to temperature very quickly, around 2 or 3 minutes. Is this normal?? Temperature remains constant once its up to temperature, and its driving fine. Also noticed a small puff of white smoke when starting it up? Someone mentioned could just be fuel filter needing changing. Thanks in advance for any help/advice/

Default Change Yo Stat

Mazda thermostats are not known for their longevity on these cars. After 50-60K they are usually done. Get it changed and see how you get on, worked on mine. Good luck

Why would you say that? The OP's thermostat sounds like it is operating as designed.

FWIW, there is nothing a thermostat can do to cause an engine to warm up too quickly; simply no such a thing.
