Is this a common problem with these cars? There seems to have been a number of people who have had this issue and have had to have the engine replaced! No problems with mine, but some of the symptoms include ticking noises from the engine and excessive oil consuption. It is my understanding that Mazda has changed the valve design starting from '05, but there are concerns that the materials used for the valve are not durable enough to last.

I just recently purchased a new PCV valve for my '05 6. It is grey in color, not black like the previous version. I am also at60K.
