Yesterday morning I drove my car on some errands. Mid-day I stopped at my parents' house to pick up something. Went back out to the car, tried to start it, and the dashboard meters started going crazy. Long story short, it had to be towed to the dealer, where I will be first thing tomorrow. A word about Mazda's road service, which is free for the first 48 months. It's awful! And they use AAA! I had to wait 90 minutes for some moron to show up. He didn't know what he was doing and ended up dropping a #2 wrench somewhere in the engine. When he couldn't jump start the car, I had to wait another FIVE HOURS for a tow truck. I'm calling GEICO to start their roadside assistance again -- at least they bring a tow truck the first time.

Will let you know what happened to my car as soon as I find out. If anyone wants to chance a guess, it has about 24,000 miles.

 

The same thing happened to my ride about a month ago. The meters started doing the same and i came to find out i had a bad battery. Mazda roadside assistance took about an hour for my pick up.

 

That sucks S1Ck! i'm sorry.....i bought my '05 5-door 6i last year and haven't had a problem with it....yet! knock on wood!

Thanks -- it was indeed a bad battery! But they kept on asking me if I had had some body work done that had damaged the battery. Anything to not give me the pro-rated warranty coverage, I guess. But I did get a rental for two days.

 

What the hell does body work have to do with the battery! Damm, they took 2 days just to replace a battery? It should have taken just a few hours unless the dealership had a lot of cars. Mine was ready in 4 hours

Forget the dealership, you could replace the battery yourself. Hell, I've done it myself on all of my cars but this one. The most pain in the *** one I have done was the Mercedes SLK320. Ugh.

But, it was under warranty...so, I would take it to the dealership too.
