We just bent two wheels on our 6 on a 7 inch deep hole in the road Monday night... We are just going to go aftermarket with all four... So I will have to Factory 17's with michlen tires that have under 7,000 miles...
let me know...
later jobie

I just bent an edge of my wheel today on a decent size pothole, actually 3 of them in a row which covered the the road from one side to the other. I even slowed down to 15mph, but i guess that wasn't enough. Oh well, it could have been worse.

The larger the rim, the more suseptible it is to bending. I bent one of mine by hitting a cut in the road made for lying new underground piping...they didn't fill it in high enough. I didn't bend it too bad due to slamming the brakes when I came up onto the cut. It was nighttime so I didn't foresee it coming. So, now it's in the rear until I can replace it.

You think our local townships/counties would do a better job at keeping the roads safe or even help reinburse you for things like this but no. I bent a wheel slightly on my old vehicle and about a month later, the wheel began to spider from the inner part of the wheel so i really couldn't see this happening. All I needed was to hit another pothole and my wheel would have been real close to snapping and possibly making me lose control of my vehicle. I now make this a routine checkup to inspect my wheels almost every time I fill up on gas (usually every other time I fill up on gas).

Since you're in PA, did you see the huge story on the news about the potholes on Rt 95 causing people to blow out their tires and lose control of their vehicles? PennDot is taking no blame for it and saying these holes are being caused "naturally" when it happens to be holes that were there...patched, and then torn back open again due to them patching it improperly.

How much would you sell them for?

Just rims

Rims and tires
