Sputtering on startup & acceleration - 2006 mazda6 2.3
Hello everyone,
I have been having the worst time trying to fix this problem.
Whenever I start the car cold, it goes up to about 2,000 rpm and pulses between 2,000 and 1,700 until it warms up. Once it warms up it goes to about 700 rpm and is fine at an idle. when I start driving the same problem happens where If it gets to 2,000 rpm it pulses and makes very little power... when I put it into manual mode and shift manually, it still sputters but it does not miss shifting... this is why I don't think it is a transmission issue.
When I rev the vehicle in park after it is warmed up, it does not have a problem... It will hold rpms at even 3,000 and not sputter but whenever I drive it starts having problems again... Please tell me someone else has had this problem
...
THE KICKER: When I unplug the MAF Sensor and it goes into limp, the engine vehicle runs as expected... just consumes a ton of fuel...
Here are the parts I have replaced:
Fuel Pump (about 6 months before the problem started)
Spark Plugs and coils
MAF Sensor
Purge Valve
Cleaned the Throttle body
Parts in Progress:
Gas pedal assembly (we hooked it up to a very nice scan tool and the pedal wasn't pulsing but was giving random values at different times... 70% to 18% to 43%... All over the place)
PCV Valve and hose
Intake Seal
Any advice/suggestions would help. Thank you
