wow interesting post and over information. Forums cant resolve or support many things but it helps to have people jump in and support your troubles? And that's about all they can do.
Many of the long explanatory complaints should be done to the BBB , consumer affairs and a couple other consumer protection agencies your best advise because of what you are thinking you want done and it will exceed the normal threshold and MAZDA USA can and often denies paint claims.... hiring an attorney.
Now please don't go off on me I am as they say just messenger or will say been a witness to some going the legal route a few times.

However most ANY good quality paint and body with a good reputation can match the RED. Why this rumor started that it is some magical color on the internet no one in the professional paint and body business supports that BS. LOL
In almost every case if you go outside MAZDA during a warranty period it will not be covered. If you sue in small claims in CA good luck getting MAZDA to pay. But you can ask for arbitration and try to get them to settle? Ands again good luck!

I do want to add yet agin that the front of many models MAZDA does get hammered and the color has no basis for how many chips it gets. My Mica has as many maybe more as anyone has posted about their RED Mazda

Sorta old thread now at little over one year old (Dec 1, 2023 11:29 AM) since last response before yours.
This is not generally a way to start your first post as a new member ? Why not start a thread of your own and tell us about your Mazda ss we can all welcome you to the forum?

 

2025 CX-50 Hybrid Soul Red with less then 600 miles on it about a month old and I already see 2 chips and two scratches. One I got on the hood yesterday and never saw or heard anything hit it. One on the trunk lid, how does a chip suddenly appear there ??? And two scratches just above the black front bumper part strange place to get scratches. I can foresee many more to come at this point. I traded in a 2021 CX-5 Soul Red and yes it had a few chips but not at the rate this 2025 is going. Something is wrong with this paint for sure ! Sorry to rant but man it's a NEW car !!

 

NOTHING is WRONG with the PAINT

This has been hashed over on many forums and on the technical side has been proven to be MYTH but on the owner's side they all think "something is wrong with the paint.

So let me help you a little///

the area's you state chips and scratches at least 2 have a different body material so that in itself rules out "something is wrong with the paint".

As for not hearing an impact well unless you are a Marvel Super Heroe, then NO you are not likely to hear 90% of impacts that happen almost evetime you get on a highway or road that the wind is active and that thier are others on the same road as you.

Does this happen yo other platforms YUP!!!

If you still feel that "something is wrong with the paint" you are under WARRANTY go back to your dealer and after they in so many words tell you the same as I have then find a auto body and paint shop close and have them look at your Mazda maybe they will be courteous enough and have a paint depth measuring took that can show you that you pant is average thickness on all body parts comparing other Mazda's and also other platforms.

SOLE RED for some reason get mor attention then say my color which is Mica and I can tell you I had a couple chip the first few days I drove it and now there are so many on the front and hood it time for a repaint and next time I am installing #M clear film which I should have done from day one.

Just type in Mazda Paint Chipping and go to images, see how many Soul Red pictures come up. Where are ALL the other colors ????? I have owned cars for 49 years and have never had a car that developed paint chips THIS fast !

 

wow another individual that runs to the internet and search for answer that supports their beliefs instead of looking for empirical information and facts based on empirical information, data or at least control statistical fact supported . LOL

LOL SOUL RED is manufactured in a limited number when comparing other colors. So those limited numbers by owners tend to get more attention and reports that are highly skewed on the internet and forums. There is one member on this forum that posted the EXACT response about paint on 4 Mazda forum so that would mean a person like you would count that person not as one but as 4.
There is even more to the SOUL RED owner snobbery that also tends to tip the scale from fact to fantasy about the paint.

So dude... here is what you can do.... go to amazon and buy an inexpensive


Then go measure you paint then go to a dealer ship and find your model Mazda different color and measure a few of them . Then you will at least come close by a small degree (very very small lol) to have what I know about automotive paint and specifically the RED SOUKL paint MYTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then if you want to increase your knowledge get the exact paint mix for Soule RED from several nation wide paint supply warehouses or retailer and learn that SOUL RED is basic formulation now different then another colors in a general meaning.

Then try real hard to find Mazda factory painting application assembly and processing warehouse facility and see that soul Red goes down the assembly line and that the application of the paint is exactly the same as the other colors..


So take that to the "I don't buy your explanation" BS!!! lol

Lastly take the time and look on this forum how many threads and responses from member over the years about Mazda and paint chipping and the suggestions by member how to protect your Mazda from chips or at least reduce the number.

oh and if you look historical in 49 years as your reference for owning cars there have been several paint insistences that have both gained national attention and recalls from s few auto manufacture. So not sure what planted you came from and are fortunate that you never owned a vehcle that had paint issues. OMG!!!!
Since the 1980s the EPA has changed and regulated stricter auto manufactures use of paint formulas and many over the decades (within that 49 year range you mentioned lol) did not do well FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paint thickness means nothing in this case, it is the preparation before the color goes on, the chip show the primer underneath, not the metal. So poor primer and or preparation problem , Mr. Know it All !!!
