Hello I got on my dasboard the messages
SBS Malfunction
BSM malfunction
I went to the dealership and they are saying that
I should change GML9-67-Y80G BSM on the right
and (GMM1-67-XA1E) distance sensor
they quoted me a big chunk of cash.
I looked online for the two parts and they are not more than $600 USD both.
What should I do? Below are the error codes.
Mazda 6 2016
Because your ABS as well SBS system is in "fault" I strongly suggest that you go either Mazda or a service center that specializes brakes like Firestone.
This is for your safety and those you are driving your vehicle in proximity to.
As for the parts they claim are at fault if they did not test the actual parts then they are assuming by way of guessing that those are the faulty parts. At least one of those 2 parts when you change then will require a complete check diagnostically of the ABS system.
As for the ABS I changed the brakes and hub but I didn't do a new scan. I will ask the dealer when I go in next week. Their electrician is on vacation and the sub is not as experienced to figure out what is exactly wrong whether its the front radar or the BSM.

Electrician????
It requires a Service Automotive Technician or some form of certified educated and experienced Mechanic in diagnostics and or specifically brake servicing that at least has either and independent certification like ASE or a Mazda Factory Trained Mechanic. Not an electrician or even a certified automotive electrician for the proper Diagnostics checking and ABS,SRS,SBS,BSM or even the BCM or ECU/PCMTCM on a Mazda ??
That's a new and funny information posting from a Mazda dealership or any dealership platform for that matter?

Thank you for the clarification.
My apologies I am not savvy enough to know but I thought he is an electrician, because I thought it's something in the wiring. But what they said it's technician. My only concern is that I end up buying dealership parts when I could I have got them used.
I will see what parts they want to change, and I will buy them used and I will try getting them installed at a workshop.
The dealership parts are clocking 2k, when I can get them for 600 used. The question would be would the vehicle BCM be compatible with these parts?
If you can verify that the used parts would fit your VIN.
This is a little work on your part. You would need to look that parts up on a Mazda parts website and then carefully read all the exact information for part application/ Or contact a Mazda parts department and have them be gracious enough to look the parts you need up using your VIN and giving you the [part number that you hopefully can ten either attempt a long way around looking up what the used parts came off of by exact year engine size and country of manufacture of the complete model Mazda. Like Japan or Mexico as 2 examples.
You might also get exact details of the installation of "used parts" from the shop that will be doing the work. Are they going to cover the service to replace them should the parts be faulty or fail or fail to correct the issue? In other words, are they the shop that also diagnosed the service needed and the parts required to correct the issue.?
Thanks for the detailed answer.
On the price list they do write the part number so I am assuming these parts are compatible with the car.
And yes they will be responsible if the parts are faulty,
